Fly into Johannesburg (JNB). From there, take a domestic flight to Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport (KMIA) (Nelspruit) with a short hop to the Sabi Sabi Airstrip.

Earth Lodge has 13 suites, including the Presidential Suite, which has two bedrooms, two baths and a private gym. Each of the suites features individually designed furniture, a private plunge pool, an en-suite glass fronted bathroom and indoor and outdoor showers. The natural wooden sculptures by renowned South African artist Geoffrey Armstrong add a beautiful touch.

Child policy
No children under the age of 12 are permitted unless there is a full buy-out of the property. However, Sabi Sabi Earth Lodge has three other lodges, and Bush Lodge is a great option for families.

The food was fresh and inventive. Breakfast was my absolute favorite, but every meal was delicious. They also offer tea service daily at 3 pm, and the scones were my favorite!

Wine cellar
They have a beautiful wine cellar on property where you can arrange a special dinner.

Amani Spa was serene and inviting. My therapist was knowledgeable and lovely.

The gift shops were incredible. They have a great assortment of textiles, jewelry, African art and home goods. We practically bought out the shop. Prices are very reasonable.

Daily Game Drives

The twice-daily game drives are 6 am and 3:30 pm, and the wildlife viewing was superb. Lots of elephants, rhinos and lions, and we were lucky enough to see a momma leopard and two cubs that were approximately four to six weeks old, which we were told was very rare. The Sundowner each day was magical — seeing the sunset while sipping a cocktail was sublime.

The staff
Every person at Earth Lodge provided a smile and five-star service. The restaurant staff was always attentive. Our guide and tracker became friends whom we hated to leave. They were knowledgeable and engaging, and you really felt they loved their job.
